parallelo and the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Adelaide are entering into a unique arts-business partnership, the first of its kind between an Italian Chamber of Commerce and an arts organisation in Australia . This seminal relationship between an arts organisation and a chamber of commerce with overseas links will deeply and strategically link both partners, by building on their common Italian heritage and stimulating business growth potential. The para//elo and ICCI partnership reflects the spirit of community, commerce and culture which ignited the renaissance six centuries ago. It will align two Adelaide based organisations that continue to put their state and city on the map. Adelaide will be promoted as a city of culture, the arts and progressive entrepreneurship. Cultural diversity will be the loam from which international cultural and economic exchanges will rise. Again, Adelaide will be the model for promoting business, trade and cultural production also through new performances showcased in Adelaide and then nationally and internationally.
The Italian Chamber facilitated $80 million worth of export turnover in 2004 and parallelo will take a taste of Australia to Argentina in October with the world premiere of Lontano Blu a co-production between parallelo and International Mercosur Theatre Festival in Cordoba , Argentina .
para//elo and ICCI will engage new markets in new and dynamic ways.
