OPENNING NIGHT IN CORDOBA, ARGENTINA :: OCTOBER 2005
Getting a show up here in Argentina has proven to be a race to the finish line!
We crossed it last night and LONTANO BLU opened to a capacity audience: 600 people lining up for two blocks to secure good seats was breath taking!
Being a Festival here, there was a real mix of people present, including press and special guests from Government agencies, and an Australian Embassy official who flew from Buenos Aires especially to see the show. We also had a few Ozzies in the audience, one of whom is here for research and had read the on-line article in The Australian that appeared last month. And this morning he forwarded us this comment:
"Gracias, grazie, thank you for a worderful play. Last night I felt that finally Australia and Argentina through its Italian heritage touched somehting that binds these peoples that seem so dissimilar, yet they're foundational experiences really binds them together."
