Having returned from an amazing experience in Argentina, I thought this was particularly apt:
"You used to be able to tell a person's nationality bu the face - immgration ended that. Next you discerned nationality via the footwear. Globalization ended that. Those Finnish seal puppies, those German flounders - you don't see them anymore. ONly Nikes, on Basques, on Dutch, on Siberian feet." Jeffrey Eugenides, Middlesex, Picador 2002
Here in Adelaide Becc and Fotis hosted Ruud Breteler, the Head of Theater Zuidplein in Rotterdam:
"I really enjoyed Ruud's presentation as it was relevant to the arts industry as a whole; reaching community and coming to terms with the fluidity of our society and embracing this is in programs. His methodologies can be transferred to all art forms and I will apply them directly to our members and projects." Niki Vouis, Membership Services & Project Coordinator, Craftsouth.
We're now finalising next year's program that includes exciting projects by a range of Australian directors including Simon Palomares, Netta Yashchin and Teresa Crea. Stay tuned for full program details early in '06.
