WHAT

The Hit! is a performance investigating terror and its eternal relation to humanity, civilization, and the individual. Having the logic of a dream, the work is a surreal and fragmented poetic journey, an impressionistic voyage constructed of colourful vignettes and images that challenge and inspire us with macabre, confronting and, at times, humorous realities.

Directed by Netta Yashchin with text developed by Christos Tsiolkas, THE HIT! echoes the expression used in Tel-Aviv when a suicide bomb goes off and everyone talks about it: "did you hear the hit?", "there was a hit again!", 'don't go there, they love 'to hit' there".

The Hit! is brought to life by an exceptional team of performers who create a world which is both mythical yet connected to their own (multi)cultural realities: Konstaninos Tsetonis (Greece), Antje Guenther (Germany), Roman Vaculik (Slovakia), and Ali Ammouchi (Lebanese-Australian).

As Netta states: “ In these days, when the world has fallen to the state it has, it is a rare occasion to have an opportunity to work in a peaceful environment. Australia , as the land of all possibilities is the place we all gathered to by choice to explore the deeper meanings of culture, in this case through collaboration on The Hit!
